kITCHEN STORAGE

Make More Kitchen Storage

If you have a small kitchen, then you know the struggle of keeping things neat and organized.  Without a nice pantry or kitchen island, storage can be problematic.  You can use some tricks to make the most of your kitchen storage.  Let’s take a closer look.

HANG POTS AND PANS

If you don’t have a lot of cabinet space, hanging your pots and pans can offer a great solution.  Commercial pot-hangers can be attached to the wall or hung from the ceiling.  They also can keep your pots and pans out of the way but within easy reach

USE A MAGNET BOARD

For knives, a magnet on the wall is a great way to keep them out of drawers.  Not only is this good not maximizing storage, but it’s also good for the health of your knives.  They will stay sharper if they’re stored on a magnet rather than in a drawer.

NEST SHELVES IN YOUR CABINETY

You may have plenty of cabinets, but the shelves and drawers might not maximize space.  You can supplement cabinet space by using nesting shelves.  Organization stores sell wire or wooden shelves that you can stack inside your cabinets to better organize dishes, spices and more.

ADD A KITCHEN CART

If you don’t have a kitchen island, a small kitchen cart could be quite useful.  Buy one that has drawers, shelves and other storage and that also includes a solid top that can be used for additional prep space when needed.

USE THE SPACE BETWEEN

Almost every kitchen has some dead zones.  For example, you might have a small sliver of space between your fridge and the wall.  You can buy a commercially available rolling organizer that fits snugly in that space to use for items, such as spices or oils.

HANG THINGS INSIDE DOORS

You can also maximize the space inside your cabinet or pantry doors.  Hang a towel bar or install organizers that can hold spices, pots lids or cleaning supplies.  You can use bags or baskets inside a larger door for fruit and vegetables that don’t require refrigeration.
